U-M, MSU, Wayne presidents: Help us, help state

The presidents of University of Michigan, Michigan State University and Wayne State University are lobbying the state to separate their funding from the rest of the state’s public universities. They believe their institutions will be key to the future economic success of the state.

The key to Michigan’s economic recovery lies in pumping more money into the state’s three biggest universities, the presidents of Wayne State University, Michigan State University and the University of Michigan said Wednesday in an unprecedented joint appearance before a state appropriations subcommittee.
