Porch Light Partnership presents home buying seminar

The Porch Light Partnership –-a collaboration between the City of Ferndale, Paramount Bank, Lighthouse Community Development and Oakland County– will present a free homebuyer seminar Saturday at the Ferndale Public Library.

A free homebuyer seminar will be held between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday at the Ferndale Public Library, 222 E. 9 Mile Road.

The seminar will cover mortgage financing, first-time home-buyer programs, how to qualify for a lone, what lenders look for and more. The seminar is open to the public.

The seminar is presented by the Porch Light Partnership – a collaboration between the City of Ferndale, Paramount Bank, Lighthouse Community Development and Oakland County. The coalition’s focus is to improve Ferndale’s neighborhoods “one house at a time.”

The partnership will use $415,000 in federal HUD funds to purchase and renovate six homes in neighborhoods east of Woodward Avenue between 8 Mile and 10 Mile roads within the next two years. Paramount Bank will also contribute financing for the projects. The six homes will be sold to first-time home buyers.
