Macomb County recognizes 71 Green Schools

Today 71 schools across Macomb County will receive the coveted Green Schools designation recognizing their efforts to become more environmentally friendly.That number is nearly double the count from last year, when 43 schools earned the same honor. The program’s organizers also are hoping that elementary and middle school students taking part in the program today will bring it to their future schools tomorrow.Candidates can start recycling programs, become more energy-efficient, or build natural wildlife habitats.
