Heavy construction is nearing completion at The Fifth Royal Oak in downtown Royal Oak.

Construction crews are preparing to pour the building’s roof later this month. The first phase of move-in is slated for May.

This 18-floor, glass-and-steel high-rise has 78 condo units at the intersection of 5th and Washington streets. Secured, heated indoor parking is on second through sixth floors. All residences will have full-width, floor-to-ceiling windows, unobstructed views and inset balconies.

The condos vary between one, two and three rooms and are priced between $278,900 to more than $1 million for penthouses.

The project is being spearheaded by Michigan developer Jack Hanna of Chrysos Development & Management Co.
