Berkley main street improvements

Downtown Berkley is taking a few steps forward this summer, finishing off some streetscape improvements.
Work crews have finished installing new planters and trees in the area of 12 Mile Road and Coolidge Road as part of the downtown’s streetscape improvement program. The city is also looking at improving its parallel parking in the downtown area.
The idea is to facilitate more pedestrian traffic by making the area more walkable. Healthy trees and plantings make the downtowns more pleasant for strolling, which helps the traditional storefront businesses that depend on pedestrians.
