From Ferndale to Birmingham the Toast empire expands. If you haven’t been to this one-of-a-kind… well, now two-of-a-kind eatery you really should. Who’d imagine that a place with Taco Tuesdays could be tres chic? That’s the delicious conundrum that is Toast. Cool decor, surprising accoutrements and, always, yummy food.
Thom and Regan Bloom knew they had a good thing with their local-favorite Ferndale location. The recently-opened Birmingham location is a similarly festive lunch and dinner bistro with a full bar and lounge. Colorful plates and cups are displayed in the lobby, along with fresh pastries, that are baked fresh on-site daily. Burgers are made with Piedmontese beef, but there are also many vegetarian options. Every visit should include a dessert order.
Toast hosts 2 weekly events. Taco Tuesdays, featuring gourmet taco and beer specials (Deep Latin and Salsa music provided by DJ John Arnold). And Blue Room Thursdays, when Urban Kris spins chill sounds of the New York lounge scene from 9pm on.
Like many good places to eat, there’s often a wait for dinner.
