Welcome to the neighborhood, potentially. The old Montgomery Ward building in Dearborn on Michigan Avenue might be getting a few new tenants. Well, actually, quite a few new tenants. Oakwood Healthcare System is slated to occupy the old department store.

About 300 current employees will move to the new digs, while almost 200 new jobs will be created – all from a number of fields.

The move will be a step up from a 35,000 square-foot facility, according to President of Oakwood Enterprises John Keuten, to a 160,000 square-foot medical office building with ground floor retail capabilities.

More than 180 new jobs will be created through the move, in areas such as dental, vision, dialysis, oncology and the expansion of urgent care will also play a role.
