Movie stars have invaded Motown

It's celeb time. All across Detroit (and its metro area) there have been star sightings. Have you seen anyone lately?

The well-known actors setting up shop in the Motor City are generating publicity here and abroad.

The current issue of "People" has a photo of Barrymore playing drums at downtown Detroit's 313.jac (located upstairs at Jacoby's). Barrymore was there the same evening that "Whip It" costars Juliette Lewis and Eve sang a version of "I Will Survive" that was posted on YouTube and Jimmy Fallon bought rounds for customers.

Barrymore was at the Garden Bowl in Detroit last month for a "Whip It" party thrown by her production company, according to Dave Zainea, co-owner of the Majestic Theater Center, which is home to the bowling alley.

Cast members like Barrymore and Ellen Page returned several times to the Magic Stick club that's part of the center.
