“Our Mobility Charging Hub will help more companies electrify their fleets, cement Michigan’s leadership in the future of freight, and rebuild our transportation infrastructure to support the economy of tomorrow," says Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist II.
“Sterling Heights is known as a welcoming, business-friendly community. It’s a reputation and culture we’ve worked long and hard to build,” Sterling Heights Mayor Michael Taylor says in a statement.
“To begin planning for the future of EVs and e-mobility, communities must first understand the needs of EV owners and where they will live, work and charge,” says Kathryn Snorrason, interim chief mobility officer for the State of Michigan.
Having four new charging units downtown means that EV owners are that much more likely to visit, shop, and dine in downtown Farmington.
The reimagining of this particular stretch of one of the country’s most iconic commercial corridors is expected to be completed in the late fall of 2023.

“The arts enable us to see each other and be better neighbors, partners, and citizens. We think all of those things are important for any community to have within its downtown area,” says Dwayne Hayes, Executive Director of the nonprofit arts organization KickstART Farmington.
Nearly two dozen of downtown Farmington’s small businesses will be participating in this year’s "Ladies Night Out" event, including everyone from the city’s new coffee shops to its bars, restaurants, florists, records stores, and beyond.
“There's a synergy that happens when artists work in close proximity together,” says Mary Lou Stropoli, co-founder of Skep Space.
“With self-pour technology, (staff) can focus on storytelling and creating an awesome, inviting experience,” says Dayne Bartscht, co-founder and managing partner of Eastern Market Brewing Co.
