Entrepreneur launches company to help create…entrepeneurs

“Serial” entrepreneur Dick Beedon and two partners have formed MacBeedon Partners LLC, an equity investment and management company aimed at helping to start up companies in the realms of alternate energy, advanced automotive, IT and health care.

Beedon said he believes there are plenty of good entrepreneurial ideas in Michigan — but not much of an entrepreneurial culture.

“We rank really high in R&D, in the top five states any way you cut it, but we rank really low in business formation,” Beedon said. “So what that tells me is that what’s lacking is entrepreneurial leadership.”
