A new medical monitoring service company, Critical Signal Technologies, officially broke ground Tuesday in Farmington Hills.
The company, which was founded last fall by Jeffery S. Prough and Marguerite Linteau, hopes to use sophisticated high-tech monitoring to allow senior citizens to live independently in their own homes when facing health issues that would otherwise require assisted living.
Coupling this center with state of the art technologies, Critical Signal Technologies can monitor a full array of conditions, including blood pressure, activity, falling or sudden movements for about a dollar a day. According to their website, the technology possesses the ability to potentially save billions in healthcare costs by preventing premature institutionalization, preventable hospital visits and admissions, and the cost of medication mismanagement.
Last November the company opened a care center within its Farmington Hills corporate headquarters. Currently employing 30 staff members, the company hopes to add another 350 jobs within the next three to four years, says Linteau, who serves as executive vice president.
