Aqaba Technologies buys firm, creates growth, adds jobs

Aqaba Technologies is branching out, creating jobs and buying a 20-year-old firm.

So many people know how build a website but Sterling Heights-based Aqaba Technologies knows how to drive Internet surfers to it.

The website development firm is so good that it plans to hire two people, recently hired another and is buying a company for good measure  -all in hopes of adding to its bottom line. The company, 42 strong, expects to continue its streak of exceeding revenue expectations.

“We’ve taken on an abundance of projects,” says Ramsey Sweis, president and CEO of Aqaba Technologies. “There is an abundance of work here in Michigan.”

But the firm isn’t limiting itself to local offerings only. It’s also taking on a number of foreign contracts, especially in the Middle East. To help accommodate this growth Aqaba is closing the deal on a 20-year-old firm that specializes in translation. This would another 25 employees to its roster.

Aqaba, only four years old, sees a very bright future for itself.
