Trio Lofts project looks to breathe new life into Trio building in Ferndale

More lofts are coming to downtown Ferndale. An Ohio developer is planning to renovate and expand the Trio building on Woodward Avenue by Como’s restaurant.

Downtown Ferndale‘s old Trio building is about to become a quarto if developers have anything to say about.

Five Star Premiere Properties want to turn the vacant two story building, 22840 Woodward Ave., –a few doors down from Como’s restaurant– into a four-story loft building. The plans call for renovating the ground floor into office space for an advertising firm. The second floor will be turned into lofts while a third and fourth floors will be added to bring the loft total to 15.

“They don’t have site plan approval yet but they are very anxious to get started on it,” says Marsha Scheer, community development director for Ferndale.

The Ohio-based developer is also behind the project to turn the old Comerica Bank branch into a 70-foot-tall mid-rise building.
