Photo Essay: “Sterling Frights” gets its spook on in re-opened Dodge Park
Metromode's Joe Powers was there to capture the fun at Sterling Heights' fifth annual Halloween event.
Halloween fever hit Sterling Heights this week as more than 4,500 visitors descended on the newly redesigned Dodge Park to celebrate the city’s family-friendly version of the holiday. A colorful crowd made the most of the straw maze, live music, free pumpkins, inflatable bounce houses, and rides. Metromode‘s Joe Powers was there to capture the fun.
The free event on October 20th was the first “Sterling Frights” festival since the re-opening of Dodge Park and participants (and hosts) were keen to try out their costumes.
The celebration was aimed at children 12 years old and under, to cater to the many young families that call the city home. Sterling Heights was recently ranked in the top 10 places to raise a family in metro Detroit, partly for its parks and events like this one.
