PlanIt Green Consultants grows green consulting biz from the ground up

Every business starts out with a person, a dream and some ambition. That’s where Roger Wohlman is with his month-old venture PlanIt Green Consultants.

The Farmington Hills-based company, which is essentially a one-man show, focuses on educating developers and other people in the construction industry about sustainable development.

Wohlman has worked in the real-estate business as everything from a construction manager to a property manager for 25 years. He hopes his new status as a LEED accredited individual and his decades of experience will give him a bit of gravitas when it comes to showing construction people the sustainable ropes.

“I have done ground up construction on just about any project you can think of,” Wohlman says. “The U.S. Green Building Council really peaked my interest.”

Right now he plans on focusing on commercial building, but is open to doing residential also. To him it doesn’t matter because helping people build environmentally friendly is the way he sees not only making his money but giving back to his community.
