Pfizer might allow current employees to license some of the company’s intellectual property, a move that would be a major step towards encouraging entrepreneurship.

Sooch, founder and general partner of Apjohn Ventures, a Kalamazoo-based venture capital firm, said she is glad to know there is dialogue going on between employees and Pfizer management regarding intellectual property, and hopes the company will be open to investment opportunities.

“We need to have a more transparent process to match up people with ideas and the VCs,” she said.
