Downtown Clawson featured in IKEA “Small Business, Big Dreams” contest
IKEA is featuring Clawson as an emerging downtown for small businesses as part of its “Small Business, Big Dreams” contest.
Don’t look now, but IKEA is featuring Clawson as an emerging downtown for small businesses as part of its “Small Business, Big Dreams” contest.
IKEA is showing a 3-minute video about downtown Clawson on its web site, featuring a handful of local small businesses, such as the Black Lotus Brewing Co.
The Scandinavian furniture maker describes Clawson as “a proud community with a long history and great people. Until recently the community was held together by wholesome middle class families and businesses. Over the past few years the next generation has come to live and open interesting new businesses in the city. The old and the new of Clawson are coming together as a new vibrant and vital community with wonderful, restaurants, unique shops, and great night-life. The businesses highlighted in our presentation represent the eclectic mix of diverse places that have come to call Clawson home.”
IKEA is hosting a competition for small businesses in emerging downtowns, providing makeovers for up to 10 businesses. It’s a video contest, and IKEA is looking for creative entries about what’s happening in your particular downtown. Other Michigan cities featured in the contest are Old Town Lansing, Midland and Grand Ledge.
