Farmington’s Downtown Development Authority is creating an ad hoc “walkability committee” to increase the number and safety of walkers int heir district.

Excerpt:

“I want to push this forward,” DDA president Greg Cowley said.

DDA member Steve Schneemann said consideration also needs to be given to everything that impedes walking downtown, including planters and benches.

[DDA member Dave] Cornwell called walkability a number one issue — over and above parking and streetscape design.
