Central Data Systems turns longevity into new jobs in Farmington Hills

Central Data Systems is on a roll, and it’s a roll its been on for nearly four decades. The company created two jobs last year, has two more open and expects to hire two or three more within the next year.

Getting product X from the factory to the consumer is never as easy as it seems. A million things can go wrong making the logistics work within the margins, so that’s where Central Data Systems comes in.

The company based in Farmington Hills sells distribution software for wholesale distributors. This software handles everything from order and inventory management to general logistics.

And the company doesn’t have to brag about the quality of its products. It can just point to its 36 year history and the customers who have been using their products over that time.

“Our longevity with out customers is quite strong,” says Midge Davidson, president and CEO of Central Data Systems.

That longevity has been critical in the firm’s slow but steady job creation. The company has created two new jobs in the last year and has two business consultant positions open today. Davidson can see the company hiring another two or three people in next year if the economy picks up.

“Once it rebounds this will be a very busy place for us,” Davidson says. And that should keep the company going for another 36 years, easy.
