Royal Oak’s Bonal sees profit jump, looks to add three employees

Everyone feels stress, even metal. And too much stress can crack a beam or a tool – and a person. Bonal produces products to ease that stress in metal, not humans. Their product has brought increased sales, which have brought a few jobs.

NASA, NASCAR, and mining equipment all have something in common – Royal Oak.

More specifically, Bonal International Inc., a Royal Oak-based high-end machine-manufacturing firm. They specialize in a product called Meta-Lax Stress Relief.

As metal gets worked and worked, stress builds up – not unlike humans – and when that happens the metal can snap (also not unlike humans), setting a project back who knows how long.

Through vibrations the metal relaxes the stress, which lengthens the length of the beam or the tool. Essentially, it’s like a massage, for metal.

Through this product, Bonal saw a 25 percent increase in sales. Higher sales equal more jobs and president George Hebel says that he’ll be looking to add at least three more positions to his staff of 17.
