West Michigan logistics firm Bay Logistics, Inc., has purchcased a Milan industrial building. The site employes 10-15 workers, and is the firm’s 11th site in Michigan. Representatives of the company say they may reactivate the railhead running to the facility.

Bay Logistics is based in Spring Lake, near Grand Haven. It was founded in 1994 and has grown into a company with $35 million in annual revenue.

The company occupies about 3 million square feet of space in Southeast Michigan, including a 445,000 square-foot facility in Detroit, as well as centers in Ypsilanti (235,000 square feet) and Canton (450,000 square feet).

It employs about 1,000 and has 700 trucks. Its customers include General Motors Corp. and Sovereign Sales, which performs outsourced services for Wal-Mart.
