Holly Area Schools’ Patterson Elementary received one of the first Brooksie Way Minigrants for their program, "Hugs for Horses."  It's a five-week therapeutic horseback riding program for kindergarten through third grade students who attend Patterson's Lower Elementary Cognitively Impaired Classroom. "Hugs for Horses" helps these students in many facets — from improving fine and gross motor skills, to sharpening their balance and posture, and even aids with sensory, speech, cognitive, social and emotional skills.
