Atlas Copco to add 30 jobs to Auburn Hills facility
Atlas Copco, a Swedish company that manufactures industrial equipment, will add 30 jobs to its Oakland County operations.
Governor Jennifer Granholm’s European investment missions seem to paying off. After a recent meeting with executives from Atlas Copco A.B. in Stockholm, she announced that the company would add 30 positions to its Auburn Hills facility.
Atlas Copco manufactures industrial equipment including compressors and generators, mining and drilling equipment, construction and demolition tools, and industrial power tools. The new positions will be electrical engineers and sales and marketing staff.
“Our strength in high-tech research and manufacturing innovation make our state a powerful competitor in the global arena,” Michigan Economic Development Corporation President and CEO James C. Epolito said in a statement. “We will continue to work with Atlas Copco to ensure the company’s continued growth and success in Michigan.”
Epolito and Granholm also met with German firms while on the same end-of-August trip that netted the Atlas Copco expansion.
