Microsoft certification positions Ferndale’s Tener for growth
Tener Technologies, LLC has achieved Gold Certified Partner status in the Microsoft Partner Program, poising the Ferndale-based IT service company for growth.
Achieving Gold Certified Partner status in the Microsoft Partner Program was no picnic for Tener Technologies, LLC. “It was quite a bit of work,” says founder and president Brian Tenerowicz. “But it sets us apart from anyone who just starts a computer company.”
Tenerowicz started his in 2000 because he “thought there was a need for IT services for small- to mid-sized businesses that wasn’t really getting met.” He explains that larger companies “can afford a full-time IT person or hire a large organization. A lot of small companies are relying on a nephew or a friend of a friend’s kid. And that can be an issue sometimes.”
Tener sells hardware and software and provides support for networks as well as individual computers and servers. Its staff of six has expertise in Windows Vista, Windows 2003, Windows XP, Linux, Novell and Macintosh operating systems. Tener says he has added “two or three” of his employees in the last 18 months and anticipates adding more. “With certification, we can be more marketable, attract more clients and need more technicians.”
Tener’s Ferndale base has worked out well for the company. “It’s very friendly, the Chamber Commerce has been great. It’s really easy to do business here,” says Tenerowicz.
