Ronin

By: Tom Hendrickson, 1/31/2008
Ronin ( ronin?) A masterless samurai during the feudal period (1185–1868) of Japan. Without someone to serve, these warriors were forced to carve out a path of their own.

The same can be said of the latest addition to Royal Oak's ever-growing restaurant scene. Design, atmosphere and sushi are the emphasis here. Ronin understands that the line between dark and initimate is a fine one and owner Jame Hayash has staked out a decisively relaxed terrain, one that is simultaneously woodsy and urbane.

Hayash is yet another resident and entrepeneur who sees the urban opportunities of living and working in Royal Oak.
