Description:
Electrical and Computer Engineering DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (1) Support faculty research and teaching activities and assist undergraduate and graduate students with projects and research assignments. (2) Knowledge of computer networking: The candidate should be able to identify malfunctioning devices in the department network and replace or repair them. (3) Manage the department server environment which comprises an Apple XServe running OS X and networking Windows, Linux and Apple systems. The candidate is expected to maintain the server, and create and manage user accounts. (4) Experience in computer maintenance including both hardware and software. The candidate is expected to repair and replace component-level subsystems including motherboards, drives, video and networking devices. (5) Good knowledge of Electrical and Electronic circuit design. The ECE lab technician should be able to configure, debug and maintain, analog and digital laboratory equipment and systems to support faculty-run labs and course-project assignments. The technician is also responsible for maintaining an inventory of all basic electrical and electronic components necessary for labs and projects. (6) Prepare purchase orders and keep track of laboratory budgets. (7) Prepare and maintain laboratory work areas related to student assignments and faculty research. (8) Supervise and manage work-study students
 
Requirements:

Licenses/Certifications: Networking certificate is desirable. Technical Skills: Position requirements include circuits, electronics, embedded systems and networking laboratory hardware and software configuration, maintenance and repair; OS X, Linux and Windows computer networking and service. Other: Student and faculty project support; and laboratory personnel, budget, and inventory management.
