Description:Goal: To have a mutually beneficial internship where the student learns more about planning/running events and is able to take a HANDS-ON position within the company. To plan, execute and follow up on the exhibitor elements in an annual tradeshow. The student will be in charge of marketing an annual event to roughly 300 exhibitors. The intern will be frequently using email, fax, phone and mail to inform and remind the exhibitors about the tradeshow.
Requirements:The student MUST HAVE skills in Microsoft Office Programs, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of an Outlook Mail Merge would be helpful. In addition to working within the office, the student may attend local networking meetings like Chamber of Commerce, etc. Customer Service comes first. As the student will be spending a large amount of time both on the phone and emailing with exhibitors, all calls and messages must be answered in a courteous manner and should be responded to promptly. Organizational skills are a MUST. 10-30 hours per week, building with the event timeline. We will work around the student's school schedule. Please note: this position does not include the typical duties to get coffee and doughnuts. This will be a hands-on experience where the student will make an impact on the success of the event. Student must attend a skills test as well as an interview.
